Singapore Airlines Q2 profit down 54%
Singapore Airlines second-quarter net profit slumped 54 percent as global economic uncertainties kept demand weak amid persistently high jet-fuel costs, reported Dow Jones Newswires. Net profit for the three months ended September 30 fell to US$73.



Air freight traffic growth continues to slow
Air freight demand rose 0.6 percent compared to September 2011 but declined 0.6 percent month-on-month, eroding the small gains seen in August, according to the International Air Transport Association.



Box ships seek alternate ports
Sandy-related troubles at the Port of New York and New Jersey are forcing carriers to divert their ships to other ports, disrupting the supply flow for retailers and manufacturers already hurting in the storm's aftermath, reported The Wall Street
