Monopolies under fire in Mexico
The decision to award SSA Mexico the concession to operate the Specialist Automotive Terminal (TEA) at the Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas is being seen by some as a wrong move, since it hands the company control of 90% of the capacity to handle new vehicles on Mexico's Pacific coast. The company already controls 60% of such traffic in ports on the Gulf of Mexico. In effect, it has a virtual monopoly in this traffic segment....
