Modest increase in air cargo traffic in August
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported a continued modest improvement in air cargo markets in August. August air freight demand was up 3.6 percent on the previous year.



THAI adds more flights from Moscow
From December 24, Thai Airways will launch additional flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to the capital of Thailand.



TAM and LAN to join oneworld
TAM Airlines, a company related to LATAM Airlines Group, will join oneworld with effect from 31 March 2014, adding the leading carrier in Brazil to the world's leading global airline alliance.





Texas drops out of suit against US Air-American merger
The US Department of Justice, fighting a proposed merger of US Airways and American Airlines, lost a bid to delay the case while Texas has decided to pull out of the department's lawsuit, reported Reuters.



ANA to get more slots than JAL at Haneda Airport
The Japanese government is set to allocate the majority of new international landing slots for domestic carriers at Tokyo's Haneda airport to ANA rather than its main local rival Japan Airlines, according to a person familiar with the decision.



Poland seeks compensation for Dreamliner glitches
Poland is determined to get compensation from Boeing for the glitches haunting its 787 Dreamliner jets which are used by the country's state-controlled carrier LOT, its treasury minister said.



Air France-KLM will help Alitalia under conditions
Franco-Dutch carrier Air France-KLM said it was open to merging with Alitalia in a move seen as the best solution for turning round the loss-making Italian airline, reported Reuters.



Georgia port tonnage, TEUs at all-time high
Records set in containers moved, total tonnage, and truck and intermodal moves made August an impressive month for the Georgia Ports Authority, executive director Curtis Foltz reported.

CEVA Logistics, a supply chain management company, and Tower Cold Chain Solutions have launched the KryoTrans KTM (KryoTrans Modular) modular pallet shipper, a new solution for shipping temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products in a secure



Logwin expands in Jakarta
The logistics services provider Logwin has further expanded its location in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta by moving into a modern, self-contained warehouse at Soekarno Hatta Airport in August.
