Freight focus welcome in Sydney airport master plan
The draft Sydney Airport Master Plan contains a number of proposals that have the potential to improve freight efficiency in and around the airport, according to the Australian Logistics Council, the nation's peak industry body for the freight logistics



Air NZ agrees to pay
$5.89m in cartel case

Air New Zealand has agreed to pay US$5.89 million in penalties, and another $235,645 in costs, in the High Court at Auckland, which would be the highest amount under a long-running cartel case.



Marubeni buys 15% stake in aircraft leasing firm
Marubeni Corp has agreed to acquire a 15.25 percent stake in US aircraft leasing company Aircastle for US$209 million, reported Kyodo News.





China Airlines gets Envirotainer expertise
Seeing the potential of the cold chain market, China Airlines has signed a contract with Envirotainer, a provider of secure cold chain logistics solutions.



French aviation workers plan strike
Several French aviation unions plan to stage a three-day strike next week, the country's civil aviation department said, as workers show their disagreement with the European Union's planned reforms of the sector, reported Dow Jones Newswires.



Privatisation wind blows over Kolkata airport
The civil aviation ministry has decided to privatise operations and maintenance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport in Kolkata, reported The Times of India. The airport was modernised at a cost of US$408.86 million.



New Bollore Logistics CEO
Herbert de Saint Simon has been appointed CEO of Bolloré Logistics and president of SDV International Logistics.



Batten to become MD of Coyne Airways
John Batten will take over as managing director of all-cargo carrier Coyne Airways in September. Batten, who has over 35 years experience in the air freight industry, will be based at the airline's Dubai hub.
