Employees of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) owing allegiance to the Airports Authority Employees Union will resort to a nationwide strike from September 24 in support of their demands, including implementation of common seniority, reported Dow

Air Canada will hire more than 900 people over the next 12 months as it beefs up operations and prepares for the launch of a low-cost carrier next year, reported Dow Jones Newswires.



China Eastern delays Shanghai-Sendai route launch
China Eastern Airlines will delay the launch of a new route between Shanghai and Sendai because of insufficient travel demand amid growing tension between China and Japan over a group of disputed islands, reported Dow Jones Newswires.

The chairman of Chinese shipping giant China Cosco Holdings urged the shipping industry to take action to avoid "vicious competition".
