Heathrow could be shrunk to a one-runway airport, with the proceeds from redeveloping the site used to partly fund a new US$80.45 billion hub to the east of London, according to the London Mayor's aviation adviser, reported The Sunday Telegraph.



Airbus lags Boeing in nine-month plane orders
European planemaker Airbus won less than half as many aircraft orders as Boeing in the first nine months of the year as its US arch-rival benefited from a surge in demand for its new fuel-efficient single-aisle model, reported Reuters.





Lufthansa wants more buying power with plane makers
Lufthansa is seeking to unify standards across its group of five airlines for the engines and cockpits of planes it would deploy in future as part of efforts to boost its purchasing power over aircraft makers, reported Reuters.



Etihad sees opportunities in Asia
Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi's flag carrier, which has expanded globally through stake purchases in firms like Air Berlin and Virgin Australia, will look to extend its geographical reach to India and other Asian markets, reported Reuters.



DP World revamping India business
India's largest foreign port operator, DP World, is restructuring its India business and creating a holding company to bring its Indian assets under one roof as it looks to expand its operations in India, reported The Economic Times.



Concessions for ships calling at India's ICTT
The Board of Trustees of Cochin Port Trust has approved a proposal to extend a three-tier concession on vessel-related charges for ships calling at the International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT) on Vallarpadam island, repirted the Hindu.



Singapore's GLP gains from China online boom
As consumer spending grows in China and more people turn to online shopping, warehouse operator Global Logistic Properties (GLP) is counting the benefits of the boom, even as exports in the world's second-largest economy slow.
