The Irish government has decided to oppose Ryanair's bid to take over Aer Lingus after studying details of the plan, the country's transport minister said, in a blow to the budget airline's ambitions, reported Reuters.



Orlando cargo airline shutting down
Orlando-based Capital Cargo International Airlines will close its headquarters and lay off all 79 employees starting at the end of the month, as it prepares to be merged into an Arkansas competitor, reported Orlando Sentinel.





Gol begins daily Miami flights as part of shake-up
Brazilian low-cost airline Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes has begun daily flights to Miami over the weekend, part of the company's reorganisation of its flight network, reported Dow Jones Newswires.



Turkey's Pegasus Airlines buys 75 Airbus planes
Pegasus Airlines, Turkey's leading budget carrier, is buying 75 planes from Airbus in the biggest commercial order from Turkey ever as the privately owned firm seeks to triple its fleet and tap into a growing market to expand, reported Dow Jones



China firms to buy stake in Taiwan terminal
Taiwan's investment committee has approved China's investment of US$135 million to take a 30 percent stake in a container terminal owned and operated by Yang Ming Marine Transport, two sources with direct knowledge of the deal said, reported Reuters.



CMA CGM Paris IPO by end-2014
CMA CGM, the world's third-largest container group, plans to list shares on the Paris Stock Exchange to get easier access to financing as low freight rates pressure margins, its deputy chief executive said, reported Reuters.



Goldenport sells container vessel for $7.5m

Rickmers-Linie to get two newbuildings in 2015
