Lasstec lands major CWV deal for ASCs
France-based Lasstec Sarl has booked a major order for its spreader-based container weight vertification (CWV) system in connection with an automated stacking crane (ASC) project at a new (unnamed) terminal project. The Lasstec system, which is claimed to be accurate to +/- 200kg (+/- 0.5% at a container weight of 40t), will be installed in 50 twin 20 spreaders. It will primarily be used for CWV purposes, but since the project is for ASCs, says Lasstec, they will also be able provide a wide range of safety functions....

Work suspended at BTP Santos
Brazil's National Transport Waterways Agency (Antaq) has directed Santos Port Authority (Codesp) to suspend all work on Brasil Terminal Portuario (BTP), a joint venture of terminal Investment Ltd (closely linked to MSC) and APM Terminals, whilst at the same time applying a US$200,000 fine. Codesp is accused of failing to follow Antaq directives, which it denies....
