India's Jet Airways, in which Abu Dhabi's Etihad is buying a minority stake, reported its second consecutive quarterly loss on lower income from operations, reported Reuters.



AMR defends $19.9m severance pay for CEO
American Airlines has defended a US$19.9 million severance package for departing chief executive Tom Horton, who will step down after American's bankrupt parent, AMR Corp, merges with US Airways, reported Reuters.



Asiana Airlines Q2 losses nearly double
Asiana Airlines, the carrier whose jet crash-landed last month, saw its losses nearly double in the fiscal second quarter as fewer passengers in its key markets took to the skies.





Adani Enterprises blames rupee fall for Q1 loss
Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of Adani Group, said its consolidated net loss in the quarter ended June 30 was US$45.81 million.



OOCL to hike rates on Asia-Europe route
Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will raise shipping rates on its key Asia to Europe route from September, after the container shipping firm reported a first-half net loss, reported Dow Jones Newswires.

Thanks to lower impairment loss, Singapore shipping giant NOL Group managed to slash its net loss to US$34.6 million for the second quarter, 71 per cent lower than the net loss of $117.9 million a year ago.

"K" Line Zhenhua Logistics (Shanghai), a joint venture between "K" Line and a Hong Kong company, has opened a new warehouse, which was constructed in the logistics park of Shanghai Lingang New Town.



Gulf States Cold Storage moves into Savannah
Gulf States Cold Storage has opened a 100,000 sq ft cold storage facility serving the Port of Savannah. The site is capable of blast freezing up to four million pounds of cargo per week.



High cost of sales drags on CWT profit
Singapore-based logistics company CWT posted a six percent decline in year-on-year net profit despite a 66 per cent increase in revenue for the fiscal second quarter ended June 30, reported Business Times Singapore.



YRC Worldwide Q2 loss narrows
YRC Worldwide's second-quarter loss narrowed as the trucking company posted a sharply higher tax benefit, despite a modest drop in revenue, as growth in its regional transportation segment was offset by weakness at its freight division, reported Dow



ABC appoints executive president
Denis Ilin has been appointed as executive president of AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), Russia's largest international scheduled cargo airline.
