Designed in the Netherlands and built by steel company Cimolai in Italy, the 16 lock gates weigh between 1900t and 4300t and measure up to 58.7m long by 10m wide by 34.7m high. The first four gates, which measure 57.6m x 10m x 30.19m and weigh an average of 3100t arrived in Panama in August. They will be installed in the middle chamber of the new locks in the Atlantic side....
