NYK acquires Tranco
NYK Group has increased its stake in Tranco Terminal, the largest car handling terminal in Kazakhstan, in Almaty, from 25% to 100%. The terminal opened in January 2009 and in October that year NYK Holding Europe BV purchased a 25% stake. The purchase of the outstanding shares has also been made through this vehicle, and operations have recommenced under the new name of NYK Auto Logistics (Kazakhstan) LLP....

New port in Zarubino
Russia's Summa Group is understood to have begun construction of a new harbour at Zarubino on Trinity Bay in the RFE, just 20 km from the land borders with North Korea and China. The new harbour could eventually have four terminals along 3000m of quay frontage, for containers (up to 1 M TEU/year), ro-ro (500,000 units/year), general and bulk cargoes (40 Mtpa) and grain (10 Mtpa)....
